Scammers are becoming more and more sneaky in their attempts to steal your personal and financial information. Unfortunately, this includes price comparison websites like MoneySuperMarket. You may have received an email that looks like it's from us, but it could actually be a fraudulent message.
So, what should you do if you receive one of these emails? Here's some tips:
Don't engage
Don't reply to the email or click on any links it contains. Doing so could result in your information being stolen, or your computer being infected with malware.
Check the sender
Fraudsters often use fake email addresses that look similar to the real ones we use. If you're not sure if an email is from us, check the sender's email address. A legitimate email from MoneySuperMarket will always come from an address ending in @moneysupermarketmail.com.
Report it to us
If you believe you've received a scam email, it's important to let us know as soon as possible. You can contact us using the Messenger on most of our website pages, or by clicking "Get more help" if you're already talking to Fin, the MoneySuperAI. If you’ve kept the email, please forward it to us as this helps us take steps to stop other people falling for the same scam.
If you’re not sure whether an email you’ve received from us is genuine or not, or if you’re concerned about your account’s security, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Keep your information safe
Always be careful when sharing your personal and financial information online. Be wary of emails or websites that ask for your password or other sensitive information. If in doubt, reach out to us.
Report it to the National Cyber Security Centre
As well as letting us know, it's important that you also report the scam email to the government NCSC by forwarding it to report@phishing.gov.uk
It's crucial to stay alert and protect yourself from scams. If you receive an email purporting to be from MoneySuperMarket or sent on our behalf, that you believe is a scam, don't engage with it. Report it to us, and take steps to keep your information safe. Following these tips can help make sure your personal and financial information stays secure.
