At MoneySuperMarket, we take your personal information very seriously. No one else has access to your profile, and we keep your information safe.
How can this happen?
- Getting quotes for other people
Someone else’s name could appear in your MoneySuperMarket account if you’ve requested quotes on behalf of a friend or family member. When you do this, their details may be saved to your account, which could mean that their name appears in your account. - Accidentally mistyping an email address
It’s possible that another customer may have used our service and accidentally mistyped their email address, which happens to be the same as yours. This could result in their name being saved to your account. - Using a random email address
It's common for people who use our service to give us a random email address to get a quote. If this email address happens to be the same as yours, their details could be saved to your account. - Shared or public devices
Finally, if you have used a shared or public device, such as a library computer, and have not logged out, another person may have run a quote on MoneySuperMarket and used their own details. This could result in their name appearing in your account.
Here's what you need to do
- Always log out
To make sure no one else can access your account on a shared or public device, always log out of your account and never leave your session open. You can log out of your account in the top right corner of the MoneySuperMarket site. - Check your account details regularly
Check your account details regularly to make sure that only your information is saved . If you’ve got a quote on behalf of someone else, you can make sure your details are saved in your account by clicking on your ‘Profile’ tab from your account dashboard. - Contact customer service
If you notice that another person's name has appeared in your account and you're not sure why, contact our customer service team.
