My car is not listed
If you’re searching for a car insurance quote or using the Car Monitor service, we’ll ask for your registration number or the car make and model to help calculate your quotes.
The registration lookup tool uses data from the DVLA, so if your registration is either not bringing up any results, or the car details it brings up are incorrect (e.g. the registration is associated with the wrong car make and model or colour), it’s worth checking how this is registered with the DVLA in the first instance.
If your car is brand new, the registration details from the DVLA may not have filtered through to our website yet, so you may need to run your quotes based on the closest match. If you do this, we recommend contacting the insurer you’ve chosen before taking out your insurance policy so that they can manually change the vehicle details on the policy.

My address is not listed
We use the Royal Mail address database on our lookups. If your address isn’t listed, you can contact Royal Mail directly to ask for your address to be added. Once this is done, it may take a couple of weeks for the update to filter through to our website.
If you would like a quote and your address isn’t listed, we don’t currently have a way for you to add your address manually, but you can search for a quote by using a different address in the postcode. Once you have found a policy you’re interested in, you would need to contact the insurer before buying, to make sure that your address is listed and you are cove
